Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this nice sunny, but showery, Tuesday morning.

This Thursday Oct 7th. is the feast day of Our Blessed Lady of Holy Rosary  and Mass  by Fr. Paddy O Byrne, will be celebrated at Tubrid Well that evening starting at 7.

A very pleasant ceremony was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel last Wednesday night, organised by the Tidy Towns Committee. Prizes were presented to the winners of the Tidy Towns Competition, for best business frontage, best private frontage and best flower gardens. They were as follows, Eileen and Noel Collins, Mary Murray, Joan Wall, Margaret Smith, Paddy and Helen Sheahan , and Reens Farmacy.  The judges said that their task was a very difficult because of all the beautiful gardens to choose from. We’d like to congratulate the winners and compliment all those who make the effort to beautify their places.

We are sorry to say that LTV2 will not be back for a little longer. We will inform you a week in advance.

Knitting club is on every Tuesday night at the Adult Learning Centre in the Main St. from 7 –9 and all are welcome .and let me say that the knitting club is not confined to just knitting alone but to a wide range of crafts plus the friendly cup of tea.

45Drive at the Canon O Donovan Centre on Tuesday nights and all are welcome.

Dromtarriffe  Parents and Friends of Cope will hold their annual 24hr fast on October 23/24 , Its their only fundraiser of the year so please support them well.

And its that exciting time of year again when the Banteer Drama Group are about to stage their 3 one-act plays . The curtains go up this Saturday & Sunday nights at 8.30, But before that on to-morrow Wednesday night, for one night only, they will have a tribute to the Clancy Brothers entitled , “Fine Girl  u Are.”. Starts at 8.30 for full information ring 029  56239.

The book by Anna-Marie McCarthy on four Irish Women, entitled, Of Constant Heart, was launched at Blackrock Castle on Saturday. It’s on sale at Easons and hopefully at Wordsworth in the near future.

Pipe Bands both of Millstreet and Cullen want to thank all those who supported each of their recent church gate collections.

Weekly 45Drive resumed in Ballydaly Hall on Sunday nights at 9.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrment in our Blessed Sacrement Chapel every Wednesday from 10.30 to 8.30 pm. Try and make a little time to drop in. The celebrations continue in Rathmore to Celebrate the 150 anniversary of their Church.

Special Healing Mass will be held there, on To-morrow Wednesday night at 8pm, and on Friday Oct, 8th Concelebrated Mass with Bishop Bill Murphy.

Choir Practice in Millstreet every Wednesday night in the Parish Centre,  starting  at 8. New members welcome.

Congratulations to Millstreet on defeating Boherbue to capture the Duhallow U12 Football Knockout Trophy in Ballydesmond last Friday night.

Best wishes to St John’s who take on Boherbue in the Junior B Football Championship in Cullen on Sunday at 1.45pm, Forming a curtain raiser to the Duhallow Junior Football Final between Lyre and Kantutk

And let me remind you to listen in to the Irish Quiz,  Builladh fe Thuairim, on RTE radio one this Saturday night at 8, when Millstreet and Rathmore go head to head in an exciting contest. That’s RTE one, this Saturday night at 8.

Here are the results of this week parish lotto draw which was held at Tarrants Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were, 11, 21, 31 32. and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Denis Kelleher, Liscahane. The seller was me fein and I got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to Michael Walshe, Mallow, €20 each to Ronan O Leary, Woodland Drive.
