Another highly successful horsey weekend has come to an end here in Millstreet. The 24th Pony Owners Show which is run here every year for charity, was said to be the biggest to date, with patrons coming from North and South of the Border to compete. Over 3,000 entries were on the books and competitons went on from early morning till late evening since Thursday. And the finals on Sunday night didn’t end till 3am on Monday morning.
The head man Keith Griffin was over-joyed by the support, which included getting the venue free of charge from the Duggan Family, and many deserving causes throughout the country will benefit from the proceeds . Well done all round.
Next up for the Green Glens will be the Self- Build Exhibition and that will run on November 5,6,7, always a great crowd puller.
All roads will lead to our Wallis Arms Hotel this Friday Night for the annual Halloween Fancy Dress Ball. Organised by the Aubane Social Club, this yearly event continues to grow in popularity and the proceeds go to deserving causes every time. So please give them your full support.
Out in Kilcorney on that night. Friday 29th,they will have a Ceili Mor from 9.30 to 1,with the popular Johnnie Reidy providing the music.
If dancing is not your thing for Halloween there’s a gala Fashion Show at the Edel Quinn Hall in Kanturk,on Friday night, hosted by Cathy O Connor of Xpose, with a prize for the best dressed lady, and participating shops will have stock available for purchase on the night. Tickets can be had from some shops already, or at the door on the night. starts at 8pm.
The AGM. Of our Community Council will be held at the Youth Centre to-night starting at 9pm. All members please attend.
Meanwhile out in Dromtarriffe to-night their ICA will host a talk given by Pat O Connor of Be Alive Nutrician ,Kanturk, Starts at 8.30 and all are welcome.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrement in our Church every Wednesday from 10,30 to 8.30, you can drop in any time.

The AGM of Millstreet GAA takes place in Millstreet GAA Community Hall on this Friday at 8.30pm.
On bank holiday Monday, Millstreet overcame Cobh in the Co. U16 A Football Championship will meet Macroom in Coachford on Saturday at 2.30pm.in the semi-final.
Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at the Mal Passo Bar on Sunday night.
