We beat Rathcoole A 6-0 in our County Cup local derby in Millstreet today. Both teams were slow to get going but we struck first in the 15th minute. Paul Dawson picked the ball up on the left wing and passed inside to Barry Lawlor who finished well. This was the start of a 10 min spell that put us firmly in the driving seat as 5 mins later Lawlor picked out Chris Cleary who tucked away the second. And just a few mins later it was 3. Cleary got free in the box and laid the ball back to the onrushing Danny O Riordan who was brought down for a penalty which Tadhg Collins rolled home. We were well on top and had a number of chances before we got our 4th just before the break. Collins fed the ball inside the full back for Brian Murphy who kept his cool to round the keeper and slot home. The 2nd half continued in much the same fashion and Cleary made it 5 in the 55th min after Collins laid the ball off to him about 10 yards out. 10 mins later Lawlor fed a lovely pass through for Dawson who took his time before chipping the ball neatly over the keeper. That was the end of the scoring in a comprehensive win. Best for us on the day were Chris Cleary, Brian Murphy and Danny O Riordan.
