The special Healing Mass with Fr, Keane which was held at Tubrid Well last evening was very well attended. The weather was fine and the healing service went on until late. Our Holy Tubrid Well continues to draw the people every day .It’s tranquil air and flowing water never fails to bring solace to all who come there. Baoichas le Dia.
Let me remind you of the walk to the top of Clara Mountain this Friday evening July 20th when the beautiful new cross will be blessed by Canon John FitzGerald. Starting out from town at 5pm. Refreshments will be served in the GAA Hall afterwards. This is a Community Development event. [please note – the blessing has been cancelled and the walk will only go half way up the mountain as the track is very very wet up the mountain]
There’s a fundraiser in aid of BOTHER coming up at the home of Gertie and Maurice O Donoghue, at their Award-winning Garden at Dromboy Carrignavar this weekend, Saturday and Sunday July 21/22 from 1 to 6pm. It is signposted on the Cork/Mallow Road at Rathduff and Carrignavar Village.

The AGM of IRD Duhallow will be held at the James O Keeffe Institute on Wednesday July 25th at 8pm. This is National Heritage Week at IRD Duhallow, ending on July 26th. Themes are Historic Tools of Our Built Heritage. Which means they’d like to get any of the tools of yesteryear which they will photograph and give back to the owner.

A very important meeting was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel at 10.30 on Monday morning. Chaired by Anne Collins TD, Fiona Buckley of Failte Eireann was guest speaker. Representatives of our Community Council, Tidy Towns, Development Group, Museum Society, and Walks Committee attended. It was a very informative meeting and set the stage for lots of new thinking
and many new ways forward for the future. Many thanks to Anne Collins for setting up such an important event.
There’s a Marathon type Fun Run planned to take in the Butter Road on September 29th. I know it’s a long way off but just to let those who are interested in such events that it’s on the pipeline.
Members of the African Missions held a collection after Mass in our Church a few weeks ago and raised €2, 710.72 for their worthy cause. They want to say a very special word of thanks to all those who supported them.

GAA: Millstreet hosted the Humphrey Kelleher Cup Final on Saturday last with Tipperary beating Cork in the final.
Last evening, Millstreet defeated Kanturk in the Under 21 Hurling Championship by 0-12 to 0-11.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) Millstreet take on Glenville in the County Premier 2 Minor Football Championship in Mallow with a 7pm start.
On Sunday next, Millstreet play Tullylease in the Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship in Meelin at 3pm.

Following Sunday nights draw the committee sadly bade farewell to their long serving and loyal member Bobby Evans. Bobby who is retired from his teaching post at our Community School, has decided to move back to his native Dunmanway, and the lotto committee want to thanks him for all loyal service and wish him many years of happy retirement.
