The late Helen was a true lady whose love of Millstreet was always so very evident. Her father, John O’Shea (a brother of the late Mrs. Kelleher, The Bridge, Millstreet)clearly inspired his family with a sincere pride of one’s native area. Helen often visited Millstreet with her family and loved receiving the “Clara News”. She was the recipient of many significant awards which recognised her enormous contribution to the cultural life of Cork City especially in her superb coordination of the annual Film Festival for young people – an event which was internationally recognised and very highly regarded. She had such a joyful attitude to life and so very bravely overcame in such an inspiring manner a most challenging health condition. We were honoured by her presence at Millstreet Museum some years ago. Her memories were so wonderfully interesting. We extend our deepest sympathy to her loving family and her vast number of real friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
It has been a year and my Aunt is still in my thoughts and prayers.
