We lost 4-3 to Rathcoole in a topsy turvy game in Rathcoole this afternoon. We started pretty well but conceded 2 in the space of 5 mins just after the 10 min mark. We tried to get back into it but Rathcoole had a number of chances to increase their lead. We got one back in the 30th min though with our first clear chance of the game. Mark Ellis picked up on a loose clearance and drove towards goal. He slipped a pass to John O Mahony but the ball broke free to Oisin Murphy who finished brilliantly. We were getting back into it but were set back by another Rathcoole goal just before the half. We came out much stronger in the 2nd half and started to create a lot more chances. Tadhg Collins put a header over from close range and Ellis was just off target with a shot. We made it 3-2 in the 60th min when a corner broke to Ellis outside the box and his powerful shot found the top corner. We were well on top now and got level 10 mins later.when Collins was sent clear by Donagh Murphy and he rounded the keeper to level it. It looked like their would be only one winner now and Collins had a great chance to get it but he pulled his shot just wide from inside the box. We were caught by a Rathcoole break 5 mins from time and couldn’t find a way back. Best for us on the day were Mark Ellis and Oisin Murphy. -report by Tim Kiely
