The death has occurred on Wednesday 26th February 2014 of Gobnait O’Leary, of Millstreet, Cork and formerly of Presbytery, Lixnaw, Co. Kerry. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, relatives and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Stack’s Funeral Home, Lixnaw, this Thursday evening from 6pm to 7:30pm. Funeral mass in Cullen Church, on Friday (28th) at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Just wondered if Gubnait was a teacher in Carrig National School in the 1960.s. Liz Lusby.
“I have the complete records for all teachers in Carriganima National School and Mrs O’Leary wasn’t one. In The 1960’s Mr. John Lucey 1936-1967 (Master Lucey), was Principal with a Mrs O Keeffe 1948-1958 and Mrs O’Connor 1958-1968, and finally Mrs O’Halloran 1968-1984.
Just an idea could it possible be Carrigadrohid? It gets mixed up many times in modern times and in word of mouth and old records. Possibly also just a mix up.”
