O’KEEFFE (Castleknock, Dublin, and formerly of Mill Lane, Millstreet) June 2nd., 2017 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Jeremiah (Jerry), beloved husband of Bernadette and dear father of Catriona, Des, Evelyn and Ann Marie. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brother John, his cherished grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross on Monday evening (5th. June) between 4 o’c and 6 o’c. Removal on Tuesday morning (6th. June) to The Church of Our Lady Mother of the Church, Castleknock, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11 o’c followed by private cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium. Family flowers only, please. Jerry was one of the Millstreet team that won the 1948 Cork Senior Football Championship for the one and only time.
He also played at centre-back and full-back with the Cork Junior Footballers from 1952-1953, winning an All Ireland with Cork in 1953 [Millstreet GAA – A History] [Cork Junior Football – Teams and Results – 1910-1972]
Jerry had a pharmacy on Dorset Street, Dublin. He was the brother of the well known Johnny & Autie.
