The last of the qualifying rounds of our Millstreet Got Talent Festival was held at the Clara Inn on Saturday night, and the grand final will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel at the end of January. The Community Council who organised the event are delighted with the interest shown in the venture and with the air of fun and enjoyment that it created in the run-up to Christmas. The members worked very hard make it the great success that it is and they promise that the final at the end of January will be a night not to be missed.
The Community Council would like to remind people that the last day for renewing the Text Alert Scheme for 2018 is December 16th. Please drop into Wordsworth Book Store, sign the form and pay the annual fee of €10 to ensure that you will receive warnings from the Gardai, of any suspicious happenings in your area during the year ahead.
The Community Council supported the Christmas Lights fund and also gave a donation towards the cost of sending our young science students to Dublin.

It’s that time of year again when we are asked to donate food and clothing for the homeless. Collection points are at O Regans Mills in Millstreet, Angland’s Filling Station, Dromagh and Educare, in Boherbue. They are looking for clean warm good quality gloves, scarves, socks, Clothing, sleeping bags, and non perishable and tinned foods. They also need volunteers. Church Gate collection in aid of St, Vincent de Paul will be taken up this weekend December 9/10, please support it well. [1]
Christmas Jumper run/walk will take place this Saturday December 9th. Starting at the GAA Hall at 11am. In aid of Irish Cancer Society. [1]
All roads lead to our Parish Church this Friday night December 8th for a gala Christmas Concert given by the Duhallow Choral Society in aid of our local Community Hospital. Tickets at €10 each are on sale in our local shops.
Friday the feast is the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception and a Holy Day of obligation. Masses are as for Sundays.
Christmas trees will be on sale in the town square at varying times from now on. Contact Dubby Twomey 087 925 51 51.
The Annual Women’s Christmas Party will be held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on January 6th. Music by the popular Kelts. Tickets at €25 each are on sale at the Hotel. Get yours now to avoid disappointment. Maybe give one as a Christmas Gift.
Please shop at home this Christmas. Solve your gifts problems by giving vouchers for the many welcome things that are available. For instance, a voucher for a hairdresser, for petrol, coal, any of our clothing shops , book shops , hardware stores ,the list goes on . Saves a lot of gift wrapping and are sure to please both the receiver and our town.

And something new on St.Patricks weekend March 18th, entitled TechWorks Dancing Festival and described as the Biggest Indoor Underground Dance Music Event in Cork in 2018. [1]
The Cullen Special Needs Association held their annual Christmas Mass and Party on Saturday. Following the Mass there were lovely refreshments ,then music and dancing, before going home each special person was given a Christmas gift. Well done to all concerned.
The Cullen Christmas Lights will be turned on next Saturday December 9th. at 7pm. All are welcome .
The Fatima Monthly Prayers will be said at Aubane Social Centre on December 13th at 8pm and all are welcome.
