The Bruach Na Carraige Summer Camp for children between 6 and 15 years will be from the 16th to the 27th of July. Children attending this camp who have not played music before will learn a few new tunes on the whistle, those already playing will get new tunes, they will learn traditional songs and four or five ceili dances, all mixed with much games and fun.
The Bruach Na Carraige Summer School will be held the first week in August. These advanced classes will teach music from the recently discovered Curtin and Leahy manuscripts which contain an historical important layer of older Sliabh Luachra music dating back to before 1850.
These manuscripts which were discovered in the National Traditional Music Archives in Dublin and in Elsberry in Missouri in the USA and came from Dave Dan Curtin, his father Dan Curtin of Stagmount Rockchapel, and David Leahy of Mountcollins, they contain many tunes of music no longer heard.
