On Sunday, 23rd September 2018 the annual GAA Hurling Games for the Connie Kelleher Memorial Trophy, the Tommy O’Connor and Alan O’Connor Memorial Trophies took place in splendid weather at Millstreet Town Park. This year a magnificent Trophy in memory of the late Connie Hickey (who was a dedicated Coach) was introduced and presented by the Hickey Family. The event was superbly organized with the inclusion of Millstreet Pipe Band, the flying of the National Flag and the presentations at the GAA Community Hall followed by excellent refreshments for everyone. A huge attendance was in evidence with many people travelling from afar for the special occasion. The dedicated Committee with such people as Mag O’Connor and John O’Riordan and many others ensured a most successful annual event. Here we share the first of our pictorial recordings from the uplifting occasion. Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.) ===========
A fantastic day. My girl spent last night expressing about a young Alan O Connor, who she shared a seat with at school for certain subjects. 30 yrs on and she still misses him. Millstreet GAA and its players, families &supporters are to be congratulated with what they did today.
