Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde and welcome to my report.
October, it’s the month that we are all asked to say the Rosery very often, every day if possible,or any prayer for that matter I suppose. And there is extra emphasis on prayer this year following the visit of Pope Francis. He needs our help more than ever, now as he tries to wade through the mountain of problems that surrounds our Church today. See what you can do.
And looking back on 2018 so far, we have a lot to be thankful for. The long wet winter and spring, followed by the long hot dry summer had us worried out of our minds, about food production for man and beast, and then came the change. Rain, sun, hope and we were bourne aloft with the joy of seeing lush crops, fresh home grown fruit and vegatables in the shops. Farmers cutting second crops of silage and much more. Surely good reason to thank the Good Lord for his great gifts.
It’s great that we have some outstanding folks who help to cheer us on. Many congratulations to O’Leary Family Butchers who were awarded no less than two gold medals recently for their wonderful meat products.
And at the other end of town we congratulate Raymond and Gillian Gilbourn on being nominated, for the best Stylish Duo 2018 Awards. A well deserved honour following all the times they have made us proud in the past at races both at home and abroad. Now they need your vote to win. Text you support to vote@ no1.ie for Raymond and Gillian Gilbourn.
