A visit to the recent BTYS Exhibition at Dublin’s RDS was hugely inspiring and uplifting where the superb creativity of Ireland’s young people was truly in evidence. We meet and interview enthusiastic and dedicated Students from Millstreet Community School, from Bantry Community College as well as Students from Kanturk, Clare and many other areas. Below we share images from our visit during which we got wonderful support from Teachers Denise, Francis and Jennifer as well as from Fr. James McSweeney. And we get to meet Simon Meehan – overall winner of last year’s National Competition and who also was very successful at European level. We invite you to listen into “Radio Treasures” on Tues. 15th Jan. 2019 on Cork Music Station (www.corkmusicstation.com) at 10pm when we hear the inspirational description by the many Students of such fascinating projects. We even discover if music has an effect on blood pressure! Here we share some 22 images – a selection of the many pictures we recorded on our visit to the Exhibition last Thursday (10th Jan.). Our broadcast begins at 9:30pm on Tuesday but the BTYS feature begins at 10pm. Happy Listening! Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)
Sean Thank you so much for visiting us last Thursday. Your enthusiasm in photographing and recording everything was so impressive. Your visit was very much appreciated.
Fr. James – It was a privilege being present at the BTYS Exhibition 2019 and sharing recordings of the hugely impressive Projects presented by the wonderfully dedicated and enthusiastic Students. We’ve had a very positive reaction to our Tuesday night “Radio Treasures” programme where the many Students described their Project in such an eloquent, informed and scientific manner. Sincere thanks for your greatly appreciated help in locating the various groups and for superbly coordinating the various interviews.
