Recently this cup was brought to us by John Sheehan a local taxi man in Millstreet, it has his father’s name Denis on it. Denis Sheehan originally from Newmarket was a man of the Rás in the 50’s and got a couple of mentions in Tom Daly’s book with some decent results. Denis was a member of Duhallow Wheelers but also gave a stint in London with a team and more time up North. Duhallow Wheelers ran a race many moon’s ago for this cup once won by Bobby Power from Carrick and when it stopped, the cup went on the missing list for some time until recently and no we are proud to use it for our A1/A2 race today and going forward in the Sliabh Luachra Clasaicí.
