Snow Transformation Throughout the Millstreet Area

Millstreet and surrounding areas have been experiencing one of the most significant snowfalls in quite some time transforming the landscape.   While it may look wonderfully picturesque we shall be glad to return to warmer temperatures as soon as possible.  Here from our snowbound setting in Mount Leader, Clara Road, Millstreet we share a selection of images from the snowscape of Sunday, 5th January 2025.  Keep safe and warm.  Tap on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.)

  1. Wonderful pictures Seán. Takes me back to the late 40s when our old farmhouse in Aubane was turned into an egloo. The snowdrifts reached the tops of the windows and front door. My father (god rest him) had to dig an opening to find hid way out! . Of course us kids were beside ourselves with excitement at the thought of snowman building and pelting each other with snowballs!
Hope it doesn’t cause too much disruption this time around!!

    1. Many thanks, Judy. The snow certainly provides lots of magical images but now, having been snowbound for quite some days, we shall all be very glad to see the snow disappear. Delighted our snow feature evoked very special memories of the 1940s. Keep safe and warm.
