It gives me great pleasure this morning to send greetings for a very Happy 90th Birthday to Mrs. Mary Kelleher, Minor Row. Fondest greetings from her loving daughters Geraldine, Kathryn and Rosie.
And congratulations to Tony O Brien our Craft butcher on receiving the Star Award in Dublin recently.
Mary FitzGerald wants to thank all those who helped to raise over €800 in aid of Mary Mount Hospice at her recent coffee morning.

A note from Claire Galvin to say that: Drama classes will be held at the Glen Theatre Banteer every Saturday for six weeks starting Saturday 29th October until Saturday 3rd December. 10 to 16 year olds from 10.00am until 12.30pm and 5-9 year olds from 12.30pm-3.00pm. Taught by Claire Galvin, class entails improvisation, drama games, drama workshops and script work there will be a final performance to showcase the children’s work. If you want to be on Frank’s 4 week, Demonsration Cookery Class, you must go along to the Community School this Thursday night,
October 6th at 8 o clock, to register. Cookery Class starts at the Community School on October 13th.
Still with the Community School, The Living Scenes Project resumed there on Thursday last. Founders Mary Surlis from UCG attended.
Eleven Transition Year Students have opted for Living Scenes. There is still room for more adults. This is a very worthwhile project and helps to bring about better understanding between the different age groups. Retired or any adults with a few hours to spare on a Thursday afternoon are invited to take part. Contact me for details or the school at 02970087.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our Blessed Sacrament Chapel every Wednesday from 10.30 to 8.30 pm. Drop in any time. And there’s a box down at the end of the Church where slips of paper can be found to write special requests and intentions. This box will be placed on the Alter for Mass and then put in the Adoration Chapel so that their intentions will be included in the prayers of those attending.
The beautifying of our Church goes on. The interior painting is at an advanced stage and now the seating is getting a facelift, the results are stunning. The ancient wood, brought up to expose the beautiful grain and knotty features. We are proud of our church and this is borne out by the way the people continue to subscribe to the fund every week without fail.
