Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report1139 from Millstreet .

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this nice calm Autumn Tuesday Morning,

The last one in October.

I want to say a very special Hello to all at Kanturk Community Hospital, where our Community Singers held a very enjoyable  singing session on Bank Holiday Monday.

Later on, in the month of November the group will pay a similar visit to our own, Millstreet Community Hospital.

The Annual Pony Show went off very well at the Green Glens for three days over the weekend bringing lots of atmosphere into our town, while at the same time raised some much needed funds for many charities.

The  Massive Self-Build and Improve your Home show will be held here from November 9 to 11th.

Our first Church Mission in ten years got off to a great start. There was a great attendance for the Blessing of Infants and young children after Masses at the weekend. And  services since  have been very well attended.

Daily Masses are inMillstreetChurcheach day at 7 am and 10 am, and in Cullen at 10.15.  In Ballydaly on Thursday and Friday at 9am.

Devotions in MillstreetChurcheach evening at 7.30. and confessions at various times. Mission ends of Friday next November 2nd.  Please attend it well.

The Missionary priests will visit our hospital, the Canon O Donovan Centre and people who are housebound at home during their busy week here in Millstreet.

Eucharistic Adoration days will continue as usual, but will end at 6.30pm  on account of the Mission.

The mission brings a wonderful air of peace and calm, and the sermons are aimed at giving a wealth of inner peace rather than a wealth of worldly goods, making a very refreshing change.

And please be reminded that most of the local night activities have been cancelled this week , to give people an opportunity to attend the Mission. They include the weekly Bingo on Thursday night, the choir practice on Wednesday night and the Community Singers practice on Thursday night. So please check before you go a see if the event you’re going to is not cancelled.

One thing that’s not cancelled today is Mary Buckley’s Afternoon tea Party at her home in Laught in aid of Bother, from 3 o’clock on. Please support it well.
