In spite of the unyielding weather a large crowd took part in the annual Clara Mountain Run on Sunday evening at 7. Competitors came from all parts of Munster to compete .Look up the Website for photo by Sean Radley and more details.
The Race was co-ordinated by the Duhallow Athletic Club.
Next big out-of-doors event here, will be Our Walking Festival on April
20/21st.with walks to suit all ages, that will take you through our Beautiful mountains , glens and pleasant lowlands. It’s an ideal opportunity for beginners as all walks will be led by experienced guides who will see to your every need.

The Annual Divine Mercy Devotions were held in the comfort of our Parish Church on Sunday at 3pm and as always they were well attended.

The monthly meeting of the Community Council was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Tuesday night. Two new members were welcomed on board , Marie Twomey and Teresa Cleary who will represent the Pipe Band on the Council.
The Agenda was full and interesting. This year’s St Patricks Day Parade was reflected on and the Chairman Noel Buckley extended a sincere word of thanks to all those who sponsored the event or helped in any way to make it such a great success. Special mention went out to all the schools who took part.
The signing of the land to extend our Tennis Court, in the town Park, was also discussed and the Chairman said the final book work by St Brendans Trust was nearing completion. And that will pave the way for the new Astro Turf Surface, which will be a very welcome development in our town.
The program for the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of the EuroVision Song Contest on Saturday May 18th are taking Shape, and the Community Council are pulling out all the stops to make it a truly fitting way to commemorate that outstanding event in our towns history. Niamh Cavanagh looks upon it as an honour to be invited back to where she herself made Global History.
If anybody out there has any items by way of photos, video recordings or any other memorabilia of interest, the organisers would be glad to have them.
A little correction. The Sheepshearing Championships which will be held at the Green Glens on May 25/26 are organised by the St. John’s GAA Club , Aubane and not by the Aubane Social Club as formerly said.

10-12 noon and from 7 -10 pm.
Our community Singers , with Maria will resume on this Thursday at the Parish Centre starting at 7.30. New Members always welcome.
Thursday of next week is one of the loveliest nights of the year when the Transition year students of the Community Scholl will stage their Fashion Show. Both Students and Teachers will strut their stuff to show off the fashions from many stores & boutiques . Always a great night out and proceeds go to good causes.
The unsuitable weather is having an adverse effect on everyone but especially the people of the land who didn’t have a lot of winter feed due to the bad summer last year. Please pray that the Good Lord will send us some fine weather very soon.

Millstreet Vintage Club wish to thank all who supported, participated and,helped in any way in the preparation and carrying out of 4th annual rally on Sunday 31st March. Despite inclement weather all hands were on deck to ensure that this event ran as smoothly as possible. Tickets for raffle which will take place on Sun. 28th April are widely available in the town. 1st prize €1,000 and five prizes of €100 each.
