Double for Cork in All Ireland Scór na nÓg
Cork enjoyed rich dividends on emerging to the fore in the All Ireland Scór na nÓg Finals hosted in Athlone last night.
The rebel county swept to national honours on outright success for Millstreet and Boherbue clubs. In the presence of a capacity attendance, scenes of jubilation greeted success for the strong Cork representation in the GAA promoted cultural fare.

In doing so, Millstreet s efforts met unanimous approval and fended off the challenge provided by Corofin(Galway), Scottstown (Monaghan) and Dromard (Longford).
Boherbue set dancers added to the club’s honour listing with a first time win in the discipline thanks to the pursuits of Amée McCarthy, Evie Casey, Louise Fitzgerald, Amanda O’Sullivan, Daniel Murphy, Jimmy Herlihy, James Casey and Eddie Kiely.
A degree of controversy rose when The Downs from Westmeath were originally announced as winners before the result was amended with both Boherbue and The Downs confirmed as joint winners.
Hopes of further outright success for Cork were dashed on a brave effort denied for Boherbue in the question time–the Duhallow hopefuls bettered in a playoff by overall winners Ballinameen from Roscommon.
National GAA President Christy Cooney hailed the compelling fare on parade and presented the prizes to the winners.
