Taoiseach Enda Kenny Visits Millstreet Museum on Friday Night 12th June On Friday, 12th June 2015 we were greatly honoured that Taoiseach Enda Kenny visited Millstreet Museum & Tourist Information Centre. He showed enormous interest in a variety of our historic exhibits including the Knock Pilgrimage Poster of 1962 and in hearing about our arrival at Claremorris Station in Co. Mayo on that historic occasion. Click on the images to enlarge. We thank Sheila Fitzgerald for taking this and the picture below. (S.R.) It was Noel Buckley and Deputy Áine Collins (pictured here with An Taoiseach and yours truly) who were so hugely instrumental in acquiring access to our newly restored setting in Carnegie Hall over some four years. Taoiseach Enda commended both for such dedication and he also recorded an uplifting audio message of great hope for the future of Millstreet Museum. A selfie to truly treasure! Taoiseach was delighted to meet with four young splendid Millstreet people who just happened to be close to the Carnegie Hall as the Taoiseach left before setting out on the long journey to Dublin after what he had written in our Museum Guest Book … it had been a “Lá iontach” (a superbly wonderful day) . We shall upload lots more images later of Taoiseach Enda’s arrival in Millstreet, his meeting with various Fine Gael members and his inspiring address to the large gathering in the very welcoming Wallis Arms Hotel, Millstreet.
