The senior soccer team from Millstreet Community School reached the semi-finals of the John Murphy Cup with an emphatic win over St. Ailbe’s, Tipperary Town. The match was played on the state of the art full-sized astro turf pitch in Charleville. The Millstreet team went into the half time break with a 2-0 lead. The second half proved to be more one-sided affair with Millstreet running out winners with scoreline of 7-0. Goal scorers were James Linehan (2), Billy Cronin (2), Thomas Walsh, Danny Buckley and Darren Kiely. The boys now meet Nagle Community College, Mahon, in the semi-final with home advantage. It is bound to be a stern test but one which the team are ready for.
