This is Holy Week the most solemn week in our religious calendar, remembering the Crucifixion of Christ on Good Friday, and we are all urged to attend the many divine services. Also pay visits the church and saying the Stations of the Cross as often as possible.
- On Holy Thursday devotions will be held in Cullen Church at 6.30 and in Millstreet at 8pm.
- Good Friday in Cullen at 6.30 and Millstreet 3pm.
- Holy Saturday, Polish Community Blessing of Food at 2pm and Easter Vigil at 9pm.
- Confessions will be held after most ceremonies in the parish churches.
- Easter Sunday remembering Christs resurrection from the dead is regarded by many as the most joyous and important occasion of our religious year, when Christ triumphed over death itself.
The annual Divine Mercy Novena will start in Millstreet Church on Good Friday, April 14th following the 3 o’clock devotions and will end on Sunday April 23rd. The Novena prayers will be said in the church each day at three o clock and all are welcome to take part.
On Easter Sunday our Monuments Committee have organised the annual parade through the town, led by the Pipe Band, to the National Monument in the Town Square. This Monument was unveiled 90years ago by Austin Stack. The Oration will be delivered by historian, author, journalist, Ryall Dwyer, Tralee.
The Cobh Animation Team, in other words Cumann na mBan, will also attend. Please give this important event your full support.
The Annual fundraising Table Quiz will be held at Aubane Social Centre on Good Friday night.
Easter always brings an air of brightness and freedom following six weeks of Lent and trying to do penance. On Easter Monday a gala international garden fete will be held at Drishane Castle. From 2-6. There will be bouncing Castles. Games and Stalls , Food & drinks. Music, raffles and lots more And a great time is guaranteed.
On Easter Monday also the Ceiluirabh na Casca (Celebration of Easter which is a National Event, will be centred at the Museum starting at 2pm and will include a guided tour of the town from 4- 5.15. And then on to Drishane Castle where those taking part will join with those enjoying the Garden Fete. We wish them fine weather.
Meanwhile down at the Green Glens / Drishane Complex the Millstreet International Welcome Tour 2017 which started at the weekend will resume on Thursday to Easter Sunday. With in excess of 3,000 entries. Admission is free.

The AGM of the Bog Committee will be held on tomorrow Wednesday night Starting at the Canon O Donovan centre at 9pm.
Its that time of year again when the Tidy Towns challenge comes into view. Please be prepared to row in behind the efforts of all those who are at the forefront of the hard work, that has to be done to achieve success.
This year it will add great interest to our town when the new signings will be erected ,telling the story of some of our most historic and important features.namely ORegans Mill and St. Patricks Parish Church.
