My great grandmother was Marie Dennehy who used to live at the house that used to stand at the entrance of Mill Lane in Millstreet. It was said that Marie was a 1st cousin to Captain Con Murphy. Marie’s mother was Maryanne Murphy from Knocknagullane, Ballydaly. I was going through a family album that Marie Dennehy owned and I believe that I have a photograph of Captain Con Murphy.

Hi Damien,
It looks like an extract of the same photo was used in the Commemoration Book for the unveiling of the Monument in the Square in Millstreet on July 11th, 1948.
It is included in this article:

It most likely is the photograph used in the commemoration book. I thought i would share it with the community as i haven’t seen any other photographs like this where he is walking down a road with a cap in hand. I was also looking at Con’s baptism certificate and there was a Mary Dennehy who appeared as a sponser. I can only assume that it is my 2x great grandmother who would of been his aunt. I have an entire photo album that belonged to my great grandmother Marie Dennehy. Unfortunately, there is no writing on the back to suggest who is in the photographs, but I can assume that the people in photographs are of my Dennehy, Murphy, Williams, Buckley ancestors and relatives that lived in the Millstreet area.
