Kall & Dyyne

Millstreet’s new restaurant Kall & Dyyne open their doors in the Square today. With a first day menu that includes bacon & cabbage, chicken curry, battered cod, beef burger, wraps, starters, all day breakfast, and much more, there promises to be something for everyone. However, due to the current lockdown situation, the restaurant will operate with a takeaway menu for the moment.  We wish Sharon and co. the very best with their new business! Golds for O’Learys Butchers in the BLAS Awards

Congratulations to O’Leary’s Family Butchers who won two Golds at the  BLAS Irish Food Awards which were held in Dingle today.  The awards celebrate and reward the very best tasting Irish food and drink products, and the passionate, driven producers who make it. The O’Leary Golds were for their:

  • Beef and Mozarella Slider in the “Beef Value added Burger Style” category, and their
  • Buffalo Burger which won the “Other Meats” category

Who’s Cooking this Winter?

Who’s cooking this Winter? is a recorded cooking program to be shown on Facebook in aid of charity. It will be recorded from your kitchen and dining room. Whether it’s frozen meals or a 5 course affair we want to hear from you.

Is your signature dish spaghetti hoops and toast or a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. If you want to take part and cook up a storm put your name in the pot now by contacting Sarah in DTMarketing on 029-70200. We are looking for cooks, dinner guests and judges. T&C’s apply.

Upcoming Classes at the Secret Garden

The Secret Garden have seven upcoming gardening classes between now and June, on the topics of pruning, propogation, vegetables, maintainance, flowers, and bees. They’ve listed them all below:

Intensive Pruning Workshop – Saturday 27th February  10-3pm.

Price €40 (Includes light lunch, refreshments, handout).

Spring is a busy pruning time in the garden. This intensive one-day workshop will teach you the theory and techniques for general pruning. Specific pruning groups will include roses, fruit trees & bushes, ornamental trees & shrubs, climbers. This class will take place outside, so warm clothing and footwear is essential. This course will be run by Alan Pitcher, who has over three decades experience of gardening and teaching.

Propagation for Beginners Saturday 5th March  10-3pm.

Price: €45 (Includes light lunch, refreshments, handout & materials)

Fill your garden for less! Learn how to propagate your own plants  – you’ll do your own cuttings on the day, as well as sowing seed, all to take home with you.  You’ll also learn how to divide perennials and grasses. Tony Wins European Awards

Congratulations to Tony O’ Brien Master Butchers, Minor Row, who recently won two awards for their sausages at the Commanderie des Fins Goustiers du Duché d’Alençon (the top European awards for sausages and puddings, which is held in France each year). Tickets €10 availabe from O Leary’s Family Butchers, Instyle Hair Design & Transition Year Students. Anyone who watches Chef Adrian knows how entertaining and informative he is – so look forward to a great evening!
