At a recent meeting Millstreet Town Park Committee formally resolved to express their sincere gratitude and thank the following for their donations towards the proposed new Playground
- Mr Patrick W O’Leary of Louisville, Kentucky, USA for a personal donation of €500. Patrick’s great grandfather hailed from Millstreet. Patrick is very proud of his Irish heritage and is a huge supporter of all things Millstreet since he first visited our Town in 2013 and returning 5 times, most recently in September. Patrick has kindly opted to have his donation published in the hope that it will encourage other “Sráiders” at home and abroad to make a donation to the Playground project.
- Millstreet Pitch n Putt Club for a contribution of €500 in addition to their annual club subscription.
- Irina Popova and Justyna Marynowska of Infinite Arts Centre who have already raised €240 from their Saturday morning Yoga workshops. The final fundraising workshop takes place Saturday 19th October 9-11am in the Parish Centre. Places are still available so don’t be shy to be a Yogi!
- Millstreet Community Council, Millstreet GAA Club, Millstreet Juvenile GAA Club and Millstreet Camogie Club who have rallied together and kindly forfeited the most recent instalment due from the Local Lotto sales in support of the Playground Project resulting in an additional €12,000 being donated.

Finally it looks like the Air Ambulance based in Rathcoole is to get the go-ahead:
“Minister for Health, Simon Harris, TD, announced today (Friday) that a new aeromedical service in the South will be launched in the coming weeks following the signing of a Service Level Agreement between the HSE and Irish Community Rapid Response.
Welcoming the news, Minister Harris said “I am delighted that a new aeromedical service in the South will commence shortly. I would like to thank the HSE National Ambulance Service and Irish Community Rapid Response for its commitment in developing this Service Level Agreement and ensuring the necessary clinical and corporate governance arrangements are such that the new service will be safe, robust and sustainable.

BT Young Scientist Project on Psoriasis
What follows is an important message from one of the six groups of TY students from Millstreet Community School who have qualified for the BT Young Scientist Exhibition which will be held in Dublin in January 2019. They are hoping that you will be able to assist them. Thank you, in advance…
Our project has been selected for the BT Young Scientist competition, The title of the project is ” The effects of psoriasis on adolescent mental health in 2018″ As a teenager with the condition, the topic is of personal interest to a group member and we believe that the stress it causes is overlooked in its treatment. We are interested in finding how other young people deal with the condition and would appreciate if you could complete the below survey. Thank you. Hannah Keane and Ria Buckley.
