Midwest Radio Presenter Supreme, Michael Commins (and Journalist par excellence in the “Farmers Journal”) has been presenting the Annual Michael Commins Country & Western Shows in Galway with phenomenal success.   And there is a wonderful opportunity to attend the Monday Show for fans of that ever popular musical genre.

There is a fabulous line-up again this year for the Monday night Show that includes Big Tom McBride, Foster & Allen, Crystal Swing, Matt Keane, John Glenn, Gene Stuart, Sam O’Doherty, P.J. Murrihy, Nan Tom, Matt Cunningham, Jacqui Sharkey, Bernadette Ruddy, Jason Travers, John Kelly, Gerry Walsh and Donncha O’Dúlaing (RTÉ).

MILLSTREET BOY WINS ALL-IRELAND MEDAL AT FLEADH CHEOIL NA H’ÉIREANN
15 year old Tadgh O’Sullivan won an All-Ireland medal when the Cross Fields ceili band of which he is a member, became All-Ireland champions at the recent Fleadh Cheoil in Cavan.

Bernard O’Donoghue Presents A Superb Gramophone Selection

Cousin Patricia Guerin (second from left) is pictured with her relations following the magnificent Gramophone Circle presentation tonight (Fri. 19th Aug. 2011) at the Canon O'Donovan Cente, Clara Road, Millstreet. Professor Bernard enthralled the enthusiastic audience with his wonderful selection of music (and poetry) and his very interesting stories, oftentimes humorous, as he introduced the various wide ranging selections. Bernard was especially thrilled to have Mrs. Rita Hickey in the audience. It was Mrs. Hickey who was his English teacher and whose inspiration was very significant in his later international achievements. From left: Margaret McCarron (sister of Bernard), Patricia Guerin, Bernard & Heather O'Donoghue and Pat McCarron (brother-in-law of Bernard). Stephen O Riordan from Drishane Road has been involved in making the charity single ‘From a Distance’ Official Music Video for the Magdalene Survivors Together Campaign.

Wonderfully talented musicians from Skibbereen CCÉ participating in this year's Millstreet Féile Cheoil at Millstreet Community School on Sunday, 17th April. These young people came from places in West Cork including Skibbereen, Ballydehob, Leap and other areas close by.
