Celebrating Munster Schools’ Senior Football Champions at MCS

We thank Pól Ó Síodhcháin, Principal MCS for sharing the following selection of wonderful photos firstly recording the victory of the superb Millstreet Community School Team at the Munster Schools’ Senior Football Final in Rathkeale, Co. Limerick on Monday, 4th March 2024 and secondly permitting us to view the splendid celebration at MCS on Wednesday morning, 6th March when the victorious Team were applauded by All and treated to a special celebratory breakfast to which further Guests were also invited.  Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Ballydaly Teams of 1960 and 1975 Recalled in Memory of Denis Murphy

We thank Frank Reen for providing us with a copy of four images of Ballydaly Teams which have direct links with the late Denis Murphy, Ballydaly.   These wonderful photos have been displayed in splendid frames at Ballydaly Community Hall for the past number of years.  We also wish to express our thanks to David Tarrant who was the Trainer of the 1975 Team for alerting us to the historical images.   This Saturday evening (2nd March 2024) the management of the traffic for the Funeral was excellent by the marvellously dedicated Stewards directing one way traffic back Clara Road to the Murphy Family home and returning by Ballydaly Church on to the main Ballydaly-Millstreet road.  Special thanks also to Patrick Lynch originally from Ballydaly and a neighbour of the Murphy Family for his magnificent tribute which he shared on Facebook but which we were also permitted to share on our Millstreet website where it has been widely viewed and much praised.   Here are the four photos of the Ballydaly Teams.  Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Camogie Club are urgently seeking coaches

Millstreet Camogie Club are urgently seeking coaches across all age groups u7-Junior.

We cannot start the season unless we have sufficient coaches per each age group.

We are urging parents, family members, friends or anyone who is willing to give an hr or two of your week to get involved and ensure the season can start without delay to get in contact today.

Millstreet Camogie Club

 

Millstreet Camogie Club will be having their annual church gate collections to fundraise for the club

on Saturday evening at 6:15pm mass and Sunday morning at 11:30am mass at Millstreet Church.

We will also be collecting outside Ballydaly church at Sunday morning 9.30am mass.

The Club would be so greatful of all the support that you can give during these collections.

Unfortunately we are not set up yet for card payments so it will be cash donations that we can accept only.

U21 Football Championship game Duarigle Gaels v St. Peters in Banteer scheduled for Sunday, 19th Nov. 2023 at 4.30p.m. is now cancelled due to a bereavement in Rockchapel.

Established by the GAA in 1969, Scór promotes Ireland’s traditional pastimes, culture and language….and also incorporates a National Quiz dimension.   This year’s the highly prestigious event is being held in the INEC, Killarney.   We thank Sharon Lane for letting us know that the wonderfully talented Millstreet Quiz Team has just won this year’s All-Ireland Quiz.   Sincere congratulations to the Team of John Tarrant, Pat Sheehan, Con Healy and Jerry Doody on such a magnificent achievement.  Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
