Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to news report 1031 from Millstreet.
Fondest greeting dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this mild and breezy, Autumn Tuesday morning.
Oh the Joy of an All Ireland win, and the twenty year wait made it all the sweeter. God Bless them all and well done all round.
And well done also to little Katie Taylor on winning yet another World Boxing Final, where she had to take the ring and fight her battle all by herself. What a girl.
Our friends from Our Twin Town in Brittany, arrived in town on Saturday at noon amid a blaze of red/white flags and all that goes with the excitement of the day before the Match. They were treated to welcome helpings of Irish Stew at McCarthys Bar, ably prepared by the local committee. Later, in ideal Autumn weather, they attended a very enjoyable tree-planting ceremony near the Grotto on the Macroom rd to celebrate 25th anniversary of the Twinning project. The pipe band played there as they do for all of special occasions. Just now our guests are enjoying a few days in the West of Ireland and will be back here on Friday on time for a celebration Ball at the Wallis Arms Hotel Tickets available from any member. And they leave us again on Saturday.
