Regional Report 1053 – 1st March 2011
by
Eily Buckley
Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to news report 1053 from Milltreet,
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this the first day of Spring.
Millstreet is rocking with celebrations again this week with our own local fair haired beauty, Áine Collins, being comfortably elected to Dail Eireann on behalf of Fine Gael. And in doing so she made history by being the first lady TD in this area since the foundation of the State. It has been a weekend of whirlwind celebrations, including a victory parade through the town on Sunday evening led by our pipe band. So it only remains for me to congratulate Áine and her team and wish her every success as she takes her place in Dál Éireann.
And I want to say well done to our County Council staff who had the cleaned up after March Fair and looking lovely again for Áine’s Parade.
