On this, France's National Holiday, 14th July 2011 "Bastille Day", we view Millstreet's "Michelangelo", Pádraig Forde, at work in St. Patrick's Church, Millstreet today adding exquisite finishing touches to the superb overall painting project in our Parish Church.

Ted and Denis are nephews of the late Joan Kavanagh of Pound Hill, Millstreet. Their late father, Michael, was a brother of Joan. (S.R.)

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely calm and warm Tuesday morning.

Wednesday night of next week July 20th will see the screening of the  Irish Premier of the “Forgotten Maggies.” on Irish Television. The Director and producer is none other than our own Steven O’Riordan.

Telling the story of the women who suffered in the Laundries and Institutions around the country, this documentary received outstanding reviews both at the Galway Festival in 2009, and  a standing ovation at the Canter Film Centre, New York where it was hailed  a compelling, brave and honest piece of work.
