Glenvale v Millstreet Celtic – 21/08/2011

Millstreet Celtic  lost 1-0 to Glenvale in Regional Park this morning. Glenvale started the game well and were in control for the first 15 mins. They created a few half chances which keeper John Lehane dealt with comfortably. We came into the game a bit more after 20 mins but were caught for the opening goal after half an hour. We started to press more for the remainder of the 1st half but didn’t create enough chances. In the 2nd half we were into our stride much faster and had a couple of chances through Tadhg Collins and Michal Maciasz. Glenvale were dangerous on the break but for the last 20 mins it was constant pressure on their goals. Mike Murphy flashed a shot just wide, Barry Lawlor had another tipped over by the keeper and Paul Dawson had a header 10 mins to go. We kept pushing but couldn’t find the equalizer we felt we deserved. Best for us on the day were Donal O Sullivan and Darek Sroka.

Team: John Lehane, Donal O Sullivan, Tim Kiely, Michal Maciasz, Eamon O Keeffe, Darek Sroka, Michael Murphy, Barry Lawlor, Eric Hickey, Tadhg Collins, Paul Dawson

Subs: Trevor O Connor (60th min), Finbarr Corcoran (65th min), Adrian O Connor, Chris Cleary
