“Hot Country” Award Ceremony to be Broadcast Live This Evening by Cork Music Station

What must be regarded as a true milestone for the newly established Cork Music Station (developed by William and John Fitzgerald, Cullen) – the highly prestigious Annual “Hot Country” Awards Ceremony (see poster uploaded on April 26 for full details) will be broadcast live from Monasterevin on this eveningWednesday from 8.00 p.m. by Cork Music Station.   Very special thanks to Hugh O’Brien of Cork (with Kilcorney roots) who produces the ever popular  “Hot Country” weekly programme on Sky 201 – for according this honour to Cork Music Station.   Two of the Awards on the night will be presented by CMS’s William Fitzgerald.   A number of DJs from CMS will be in Monasterevin on the night and they will comment on proceedings as well as conduct a number of interviews with some of the galaxy of Country & Western Stars who will be attending this very significant annual event.   So we very much encourage you to tune into  www.corkmusicstation.com on this Wednesday night from 8.00 for this LIVE broadcast.   Happy listening!  (S.R.)

Death Notice: Kathleen (Kitty) Moynihan, Flintfield

The death has occurred on Monday, April 30, 2012 of Kathleen (Kitty) Moynihan, (née Murphy) of Flintfield, Millstreet. Following an accident. Removal today, Wednesday, from Tarrant’s Funeral Home at 8pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Thursday, at 12 noon, followed by burial to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

Green Flag Award for Derinagree NS

Derinagree NS have just received the fantastic news that they have been awarded their first Green Flag for the school. This is a tremendous acheivement! A delegation has been invited to collect their well deserved flag at an Awards Ceremony in Cork on May 22nd.
