Historic 1927 Ticket…Fundraising for Church

We thank Teresa Murphy of West End, Millstreet for this very interesting 1927 ticket relating to a Social and Dance in New York in aid of St. Patrick’s Church in Millstreet. One of the Organising Committee Members was Peggy Corcoran – an aunt of Teresa and her sister, Eileen.   (S.R.)

Blessing of the Cross to be Rescheduled

Change of plan - the walk is going ahead but...There has been a change of plan for the walk up Clara and  blessing of the new cross, which had been scheduled for this Friday evening (July 20th @ 5pm). The walk is going ahead but only to the viewing point as the weather has left the path to the cross in bad condition. (Update: The walk has now been cancelled also). The cross will be blessed on another occasion. It would be great to see everyone on the walk anyway. Registration as planned in the GAA hall at 4.30. Rallying: Charlie Drake/Christy Drake finished 11th in their Mitsubishi Evo 9 at the Mitchelstown Forest Rally 2012 [results] [see the video below]

Camogie: A huge congrats to the Millstreet Under 18 Camogie team who won the Cork Summer Sevens Tournament Section C at St.Finbarr’s on Saturday July 7th. The nine participating Clubs were Na Piarsaigh, Banteer, Carrigtwohill, St. Fanahan’s, Sarsfields, Millstreet, Fr. O’Neill’s, Cobh and St.Finbarr’s.
