Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1142 from Millstreet.
Fondest Greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this wet and wintery Tuesday morning.
It was a sparkling week here in Millstreet when our Living Scenes Project swept the board in Brussels itself, as they took part in the European Year of Active Ageing Competition. Out of a field of 1,000 entries from all over Europe, they were awarded second place. School Chaplin , John Magee and founder member Eansie Twomey travelled to Brussels for the presentation. And on their return on Thursday a gala event was held at the school. It was attended by Dr. Mary Surlis of NUI Galway who devised Living Scenes in the first place. Many past pupils attended as did our Parish Priest Canon John FitzGerald. Past teachers were also there and many others who have been associated with the project since it was started here at our Community School 7years ago. Sean Radley was there to capture it all on film. Look up the website for more details. It was a proud day for Millstreet and its Community School.
