We beat DeCourcey Albion 2-1 in the town park this morning to advance in the County Cup. The game was very scrappy for the first 15 mins but it was Millstreet that had the opening chance. Paul Dawson played in Tadhg Collins whose shot went just wide. DeCourcey had a penalty awarded 5 mins later but it was put wide. They took the lead shortly after but we almost hit back straight away when Collins went clear again but this time his shot was saved. He wasn’t to be denied a third time though and when a ball from John Cullinane set him clear in the 35th min he drove towards goal and finished with a low drive. We started the second hal well and had a number of early chances to take the lead through strikes from Collins and Eamon O Keeffe. BOURKE (Rathcoole): On February 8, 2013, peacefully, at her home, in Bolomore, surrounded by her loving family. Mary (nee O’Flynn), devoted wife of Donal and dear mother of John, Michael, Donal, Seamus, Eileen (O’Callaghan), Frances (Guerin) and the late Pat. McAleese Report Reaction
Following the release of the McAleese Report this week (on the Magdelene Laundaries), and the Taoiseach’s refusal to admit blame on the part of the state, Steven O’Riordan as spokesman for the Survivors Group was on the airways and papers airing their views.
