“Stop it Nurse!” Superb Drama Production at Glen Theatre This Sunday Night

A magnificent production by Banteer Drama Group "Stop it Nurse!" is being enjoyed by capacity audiences at Banteer's Glen Theatre.   Universally praised it is wonderfully hilarious and can still be seen this Sunday night at 8.30. Juvenile GAA Registration and Victory Presentation

Millstreet Juvenile GAA registration for all age groups Monday 11th of March from 7-8pm. Anyone who missed last Mondays registration for the 6 and 7 year olds can register them Monday night.

Millstreet Juvenile GAA Club will hold a victory/medal presentation on Sunday 24th March in The Wallis Arms Hotel at 7pm. Finger food will be served. Tickets cost €5.

Rallying Comes Home

cork20-logoMillstreet Development Group - logo 02Millstreet Development Group and Millstreet Community Council would like to announce that the Cork 20 Rally will be headquartered in Millstreet for the next two years.

Due to the initiative of some members of Millstreet Development Group and with the cooperation of Millstreet Community Council this announcement is possible. When the management of the Munster Car Club were approached about headquartering the Rally in Millstreet they gave it their full attention and eventually gave the nod to Millstreet against keen competition. In the negotiations Millstreet had one “ace” that would be hard to beat, namely the outstanding facilities at the Green Glens Arena and the enthusiasm of the Duggan family to see the rally come to Millstreet.

BILLY AND DADMillstreet is certainly no stranger to rallying. One has only to cast their minds back to the 70’s and 80’s when Billy Coleman and Gerard Buckley dominated rallying nationally and internationally. In that time Coleman won six Cork 20’s and Buckley won five.

Also Millstreet lies smack in the middle of the best rallying countryside in Ireland and in previous years it hosted stages of the Cork 20, Rally of the Lakes and Circuit of Ireland which Coleman won three times.

The rally will take place in 2013 on Oct 5th and 6th. Over the two days competitors will travel about 280km on up to 14 stages. Removal at 6.45pm today, Friday, from Tarrants Funeral Home, Millstreet to St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet. Funeral Mass tomorrow, Saturday, at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to Drishane Cemetery.
