Brian Murphy wins Monster MAC MILLSTREET’S Brian Murphy delivered a compelling performance to land the overall prize in the Monster MAC  adventure race hosted  in Millstreet Country Park on Saturday.   Conditions were tough over the Boggeragh circuit as  the diverse course  offered up plenty of challenges for the 250 strong entry drawn from all over the country..  A steep off road 8km run to a high point of 644m above sea level to the peak of Musheramore, followed by a 25km bike trail and engaging in a kayak race in Millstreet Country Park added to a fitting test of surivival before Brian  emerged to the fore much to the delight of family and supporters. Participants extended plaudits to the organising committee headed by Marie Griffin from Kilbrin coupled with the favorable weather and the hospitality of Millstreet Country Park added to the outstanding staging.
