Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1181 from Millstreet. Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely balmy autumn morning.Well our town is trying to get back to normal, following the wonderful happening of the past week.It wasn’t easy to keep up with it all.The big thing of course was out International Summer Horse Show which brought competitors from as many a ten foreign countries .

Building up to a massive eight and a half thousand entries. And with a free entry at the gate, the people were able to drop in at any time. Competitions were ongoing in all ten arenas from early morning to late at night. The weather was very suitable, brilliant sunshine and a drop of rain to keep down the dust on the all-weather arenas, And the crowds came to seeand they were not disappointed. In all €180.000 was paid out in prize money. Please look up the website and see for yourself what a spectacular event our Summer International Horse Show was.
Again Many congratulations to the Duggan Family and all their helpers. They can take a well earned bow.

Blackwater Boating Adventure Began at Boeing on Monday

Eileen O'Riordan of Dromsicane, Millstreet (3rd from left) kindly alerted us to the boating adventure which was to be undertaken by six enthusiastic and marvellously fit men as they prepared to set off for Youghal this Monday morning from the Boeing Crossing at Dromsicane/Dooneen. It is hoped to arrive in Youghal on Wednesday. The happy group camped in the exquisite setting of Dromsicane and were provided with a wonderful Irish breakfast by Eileen, Francis and Family before the start of the adventure. (S.R.)
