Evening of Music and Dance to benefit Lisheens House Drop in Centre

Lisheens House Drop in centre in Kealkill is a new non- profit charitable organisation opening in October 2014 committed to providing a compassionate, professional, free or affordable counselling service in West Cork, primarily to help prevent suicide and self harm. Established by a small team of dedicated individuals the centre will offer free/subsidised counselling and other therapies where appropriate, in a welcoming, safe, and non-judgemental environment by trained professionals.

Stress and anxiety can impact on a person’s life at any time, and while work/school situations and personal relationships can all be sources of happiness and joy, they may also be potential sources of stress.

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a Cairde, and welcome to News Report 1226 from Millstreet.Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the best on this lovely pleasant Tuesday morning. St. Swittens Day.

Top of the page this morning has to be a huge message of congratulations the Mark Ellis on his wonderful performance as a member of the Cork Hurling team who defeated Limerick in the County Hurling Final on Sunday. Signs were up all over the place wishing him well on Sunday. And lots of prayers that he would be fit to play in spite of his knee injury. Baoichas le Dia it all came up trumps in the end. And on Sunday night all eyes were on the Telly to see the match played all over again and to wallow again in the joy of it all.

History was made in Millstreet that day.
Mark Ellis is the first Millstreet man, ever to hold a
Senior Munster Medal in Hurling. Well done Mark.

First Juggler (Thomas from France) Arrives for EJC2014 in Millstreet

 

Talented Juggler, Thomas from France who is a medical student was the very first Juggler to arrive in Millstreet on Tuesday, 15th July 2014 for the highly prestigious EJC2014.  Taking Thomas on a mini-tour of Millstreet he received an official welcome from Noel C. Duggan at Green Glens.   Thomas was hugely impressed with Millstreet town, its people, Green Glens and Drishane.  He arrived early as an enthusiastic Volunteer to participate in the many preparations for the great event which begins on Saturday, 19th July.
