Young musicians from Millstreet who are members of the Crossfields Céilí Band (Freemount Comhaltas) which won the U18 Grúpa Ceoil (Gerald Whelan Memorial Cup) at the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Sligo yesterday. They are Tadhg O Sullivan, Killian Linehan, Sarah Dennehy, Darren Kiely & Daniel O Callaghan. Tadhg, Darren, & Daniel were also part of the 15 – 18 Ceili Band that finished 2nd.

We’ve learned that Kerry Rose, Mary Hickey, will be the 9th Rose to be interviewed live on RTÉ1 television this evening. Transmission of the Rose of Tralee begins at 8.oo p.m.. (S.R.)

A huge congratulations to Maggie Moynihan, Cullen won the Comhaltas Singing competition for children under 12yrs at Fleadh Cheoil Sligo 2014 over the weekend.
Maggie’s singing tutor is the very well known and superbly talented Annmarie O’Riordan from Rathcoole.
No doubt the start of many successes for both of them !!!
