Rainfall Warning for Tomorrow

We’re coming to the end of the current dry weather, so to avoid doing things in halves, there’s a Code Orange Weather Warning in effect for tomorrow, with some flooding possible and up to 70mm of rain on higher ground 🙁 From the graphic below, it looks like it will begin raining during the night and get a bit heavier from the late morning on.

2015-09-10 Code Orange rain warning for the next dayAll in all, tomorrow won’t be the best day for hanging out the washing!

Light a Candle Tonight

Today September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Many of us have been personally touched by its terrible hand, as there has been a very high rate of suicide in Duhallow for many years. Look out for those around you, help them, and above all listen.

C103 gave out candles yesterday in the square, but you can use any candle, just light it near a window at 8pm tonight to show your support for suicide prevention, to think of the survivors, and to remember those lost loved ones.

Niall O’Brien comes from the rural parish of Kilcorney in north Cork. He has been writing poetry since the age of eleven and has been published many times in Ireland and the UK down through the years, receiving favourable reviews on each occasion. These reviews were the main reason for publishing this book.  The poems in this book are a sampled collection of Niall’s work from 1970 to 2014 hence the title “Between the Years”. The content is deliberately varied to keep the book interesting for you the reader and the retail price is kept as low as possible so as many people as possible can buy it.

Five years ago Niall launched a niche business called Poetry Gifts Ireland which supplies commissioned and customised poetry for all occasions at fantastic low prices. You can follow Poetry Gifts Ireland on Facebook.

“Between the Years” is now in stock in The Dungeon book shop in Killarney, Hickey’s Centra, Rathmore and Wordsworth in Millstreet. You can order direct from Niall at <email>.......Please">nilebrien @gmail.com   Please support this fantastic book.Book poster-600

we are sponsoring a local athlete (Helen Cooney from Kilcorney who resides in Leeds, UK) who will be competing at the world kickboxing championships in the States in November.”

Born2Transform Ireland Sponsored Athlete Announcement!!!

The B2T Team would like to proudly announce Helen Cooney as a B2T Sponsored Athlete & welcome her to the team. B2T Irl Team Member, Colin, was on hand recently to present Helen with her Cheque & B2T T-Shirt for her trip to the World Championships.

Helen will be competing at the “World Kickboxing and Karate Commission World Championships” in Orlando Florida (http://www.wkcworld.com) from 6-10th November. She will be fighting in the Light Continuous Kickboxing Division. Unfortunately, it is an amateur sport, so everything is self funded so that is why B2T have come on board with Helen. She fought her way to a Bronze Medal last year in the same competition in Dublin & hopes to go harder & higher than that this year and aim for gold. B2T Irl are in no doubt that she will beat any fighter put in front of her and bring home a gold medal. She is the only Irish Fighter on the UK Team and she fights out of Shogun Martial Arts, Wakefield, Leeds.

If anyone would like to contribute to the development & backing of a great Irish fighter abroad, the link for sponsorship is
