We’re coming to the end of the current dry weather, so to avoid doing things in halves, there’s a Code Orange Weather Warning in effect for tomorrow, with some flooding possible and up to 70mm of rain on higher ground 🙁 From the graphic below, it looks like it will begin raining during the night and get a bit heavier from the late morning on.
All in all, tomorrow won’t be the best day for hanging out the washing!
Today September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day.
Many of us have been personally touched by its terrible hand, as there has been a very high rate of suicide in Duhallow for many years. Look out for those around you, help them, and above all listen.
C103 gave out candles yesterday in the square, but you can use any candle, just light it near a window at 8pm tonight to show your support for suicide prevention, to think of the survivors, and to remember those lost loved ones.
Niall O’Brien comes from the rural parish of Kilcorney in north Cork. He has been writing poetry since the age of eleven and has been published many times in Ireland and the UK down through the years, receiving favourable reviews on each occasion. Helen will be competing at the “World Kickboxing and Karate Commission World Championships” in Orlando Florida (http://www.wkcworld.com) from 6-10th November. She will be fighting in the Light Continuous Kickboxing Division. Unfortunately, it is an amateur sport, so everything is self funded so that is why B2T have come on board with Helen. She fought her way to a Bronze Medal last year in the same competition in Dublin & hopes to go harder & higher than that this year and aim for gold. B2T Irl are in no doubt that she will beat any fighter put in front of her and bring home a gold medal. She is the only Irish Fighter on the UK Team and she fights out of Shogun Martial Arts, Wakefield, Leeds.
