Dia is Mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome.

The AGM of the Lotto Committee was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday night and was very well attended.  Co-chairmen Noel Buckley and Denis Twomey presided as did Secretary/Treasurer Marie Twomey and Pro’s Mgt Burke and Eily Buckley.

The Lotto project continues to be one of the most successful and beneficial events of our community. In it’s 22nd year it is the life line of our TownPark, the local GAA and the Youth Complex. Hurdreds of our people of all ages live better lives because of it.

In all, 44 people are involved in the successful running of our parish lotto. And for the draw on Sunday nights just a handful of people turn up faithfully every week .

All monies and tickets are meticulously checked and when the draw is over the tickets are taken from the drum and counted. The number has to tally with the weeks takings.

At the Election of officers the committee was re-elected in block, thus giving the existing group the support to continue the great work that they have been  doing so well for some years.

A very sincere word of thanks was extended to the general public for their continued support over the years.

The attendants then enjoyed a pleasant buffett meal and a social evening followed.

Copies of the financial report are available , ask any member.

Last Snow of the Winter ?

A week ago there was a sudden and unexpected heavy snowfall which blanketed the area, especially Mushera which got a good deep cover. While it’s lovely to look at, hopefully it will be the last one of the year, and that the weather will pick up, after what has been an awful winter. (With thanks to Paul/Noreen O’Connor who took the 30+ photos below at dawn last Sunday in the Mushera / Knocknakilla area).
