Chicken George to be Honoured
A certain Gerry O’ Sullivan, much better known as Chicken George, who spent many years living in Millstreet, (70s/early 80s) now lives in Clonakilty, as I do myself and I have met him on many occasions as we go about our daily lives here in West Cork. Any time I have had the great pleasure of meeting him, we ALWAYS chat about our times in Millstreet!!! So I just thought I’d let ye know that Chicken George will be honoured at Asna Sq. Clonakilty this Saturday at 4pm. There will be music and merriment and lots of dancing! He will be presented with a certificate that will give him “Citizenship” of Clonakilty. Anyone who remembers Chicken George will remember a very colourful character, brimming over with the joys of this life, a champion disco dancer and a gentleman of the highest order. I for one, am so proud to know him both here in Clon and as a boy in my hometown of Millstreet.
