Death Notice: Denis O’Flaherty

O’Flaherty: London and Newmarket. Denis, formerly of 9 Guiney’s Terrace and Cricklewood, London, beloved husband of Gerardine (nee Long) and dear dad of Denis Christopher, John Joseph and Elizabeth Mary, son of the late Denis and Nora and brother of the Late Noreen, Tim Joe and Gene. Deeply mourned by his loving wife, sons, daughter, grandchildren, brother, sisters, uncle, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing on Thursday evening in O’Reilly’s Funeral Home, Newmarket from 7pm to 9pm followed by rosary. Reception into St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Friday at 11.45am for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Millstreet Pitch & Putt Updates

The winner of the last major trophy for this season – The Dan Breen Memorial Trophy – was won by Darren O’Sullivan with Shane Browne in runner – up position while Brian O’Sullivan won the juvenile section.

Over the next couple of weeks, weather conditions permitting, we will be holding a competition every Saturday at 2.30pm. It will be based on a points system with the person on the highest number of points qualifying for Christmas prizes of Turkey and Ham vouchers, Chocolates, Biscuits, Pampering hampers and lots more Christmas fare. At least 5 cards will have to be submitted over the weeks leading up to Christmas with the 3 best to count. Entry fee will still remain at €3 for Adults and €2 for juveniles.  We thank Joan Casey for the Club Updates.  (S.R.)
