“Radio Treasures” On Air On CMS from 9:30 to 11:00 pm Tonight

Among the many items about which we shall be chatting on “Radio Treasures” tonight … News updates…Upcoming events.  Lots of excellent music to suit all tastes…hopefully!   We chat about today’s RTAI Convention in Dublin.  Our 10pm Feature includes Songs by Joe Dolan and Sonny Knowles And we delve into our Pictorial Archives which includes  the 2017 Foynes Air Display, the annual Soap Box Afternoon and we meet with Declan and Eoin from Kilkenny who have been installing the magnificent new Information Display Units throughout the town and suburbs. Sliabh Luachra Cycling Juvenile Club

Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club was established in July 2012 with the juvenile section of the Club commencing in 2015

Juveniles are the long term development for our Cycling Club. We are currently recruiting new juvenile members to join our Club.  The juveniles will need to be in 5th or 6th class in National School or in Secondary level education. We have a number of experienced adults trained by Cycling Ireland in foundation coaching who will coach these new members.

Our plan for 2017 is to commence coaching the new members with a 4-6 week training block in a local national school ground. During this period our new members will learn various bike skills that will ensure they are confident, safe and courteous cyclists when on the road. After several weeks of training we take the kids to leisure events locally (in our newly purchased Club Minibus) to challenge themselves at longer distance and with a little bit more experience we will participate in competitive races for those who wish to do so.

Our open night for parents and new juvenile members is

Thursday night March 16th

in Teach Iosagin Rathmore (at the rear of Church)

at 8pm

with juvenile training to commence on the following Saturday (18th March) at 9am.

Thanks for supporting the Fairtrade Coffee Morning in aid of MS Ireland

Thank you to everyone who supported the Fairtrade Coffee Morning in aid of MS Ireland that took place on Tuesday 28th February in Millstreet Parish Centre.  A total of €486 was raised.

The event was organised by the Millstreet Community School Transition Year Development Education Group

Wonderfully Successful MCS Quiz for Lourdes Project 2017

Coordinators of the hugely successful MCS Quiz for Lourdes Project at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday, 3rd March 2017 at which Patrick W. O’Leary’s seven Kentucky Derby gifts as spot prizes were given very special mention. The overall fund on the night amounted to a most impressive €1,239.80. Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)

Next “Radio Treasures” on St. Patrick’s Week – Tuesday 14th March 2017

Coinciding with the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation in Millstreet the next “Radio Treasures” on Cork Music Station will be broadcast from 9:30 pm on Tuesday, 14th March 2017.  Because that will be St. Patrick’s Week the emphasis will be on music and song of Ireland.  (S.R.)
