The death has occurred of: Vera MOYLAN (née O’Connor)
(5 Fergus Road, Shannon, Co. Clare and formerly of Millstreet, Co. Cork), wife of the late Noel – April 11, 2017; deeply regretted by her loving sons Kevin and Bernard, sister Joan, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at McMahons Funeral Home, Shannon today (Wednesday) from 6 o’c. Removal at 7.30 o’c. to Mary Immaculate Church, Shannon. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Thursday) at 11 o’c. Burial afterwards in Illaunmanagh Cemetery, Shannon.

Aubane Social Club Annual Good Friday Table Quiz will take place on Tommorrow Night Friday 14 April at 8.30 pm in Aubane Community Centre, Tables of 4 are €40.00,Under 18`s half price. Raffle also on the night. All Very Welcome.

 

Eily’s Report – 11th April

Dia is Mhuire diobh go léir a chairde and welcome to my weekly report.

The monthly meeting of the Community Council will be held at the Wallis Arms hotel tonight starting at 9pm. All members please attend.

And let me remind you once again to tune in on tomorrow Wednesday night April 12, when RTEs Nationwide program will do  feature on the Barry Home at Lackabawn, which is part of the centenary celebrations by renowned the Ford Company, highlighting  100 years in Ireland, in both the car and tractor business.

The popular Nationwide program goes on air  just after the six o’clock news. Don’t miss it.

This is Holy Week the most solemn week in our religious calendar, remembering the Crucifixion of Christ on Good Friday,  and we are all urged to attend the many divine services.  Also pay  visits the church and saying the Stations of the Cross as often as possible.

  • On Holy Thursday devotions will be held in Cullen Church at 6.30 and in Millstreet at 8pm.
  • Good Friday in Cullen  at 6.30 and Millstreet 3pm.
  • Holy Saturday,  Polish Community Blessing of Food at 2pm and Easter Vigil at 9pm.
  • Confessions will be held after most ceremonies in the parish churches.
  • Easter Sunday remembering Christs resurrection from the dead is regarded by many as the most joyous and important occasion of  our religious year, when Christ triumphed over death itself.
