Eily’s Report 9th May
Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to my weekly report from Millstreet.
The fine weather continues and already the silage season is upon us. When it gets into full swing there will be the usual upsurge in the volume of traffic on our already very busy roads. Please be vigilant at all times, watch out for temporary signs at farm gates and fields. And at bends in the roads.
There is a marked increase in the number of houses being bought up and being renovated, or new ones being built around the place. The return of some of our young people from abroad is making a marked improvement in the life of our town and community. And long may it last.
The cutting of the turf at Gneeves was finished a week age and the dedicated committee have sectioned it off in accordance with the orders that they received from the 140 customers. The fine weather making light work of the saving of this important winter fuel.
