“Where the Road Takes Me” on C103 at 7 This Evening

Influences on Irish Traditional Music on the ‘Where the road takes me’ series has now reached the half-way mark. This week we concentrate on one of our foremost music collectors who salvaged and preserved two thousand traditional songs and tunes.

This week John Greene travels to Inward Ardgroom, close to the village of Ardgroom, where Church of Ireland Canon James Goodman served as curate between 1858 and 1866. In Pictures: Dressage and Cross Country at the European Championships

At the 2017 FEI European Junior and Young Rider Championships, Dressage took centre stage on thursday. While Thursday was a fine day, Friday had shocking weather, so some had to compete in the downpours. Thankfully the rain cleared Friday night, and the sun shone for Saturday’s Cross Country in Drishane, with the rain helping to make ground conditions excellent. There were a number of fallers, but no serious injuries, only bumps and bruises.
