Magnificent Prestigious All-Ireland Award for Diarmuid Cronin, Laught, Rathcoole

Sincere Congratulations to Diarmuid Cronin, Laught, Rathcoole who won the U18 Storytelling Competition at The All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil at the weekend in Drogheda.  What a truly magnificent achievement by the wonderfully talented Diarmuid.  His late grandparents Diarmuid and Nora Creedon would have been so very proud of such a prestigious award for their grandson.  Click on the image to enlarge.  (S.R.)

This week on ‘Where the road takes me’, John Greene visits the townland of
Tullymurrihy in the parish of Enniskeane. It’s here that West Cork’s answer
to John B. Keane was born. Mick Flynn, or Mick the poet, or Mick the ’98
man’, was a singer, songwriter, poet, playwright.

Unlike the Listowel born playwright, Flynn neglected to write, record and
retain his work, and as a result, a lot of it has been lost forever. What
