Sincere Thanks for Kind Generosity to Mallow General Hospital

The recent church gate collection in aid of The Friends of Mallow General Hospital Equipment Fund amounted to €1,090.00 for which they are very grateful.   Sincere thanks to all who very kindly contributed to the praiseworthy fund.  Thanks also to Mary O’Mahony for helping to coordinate the recent church gate collection in Millstreet. Seven point increase for Millstreet Tidy Towns

Congratulations to all involved with Millstreet Tidy Towns rise from 314 points last year 2017,  to 321 points in 2018, which was announced at the national awards this morning. A Bronze medal and only 18 points behind the national winners Listowel.

Wonderfully Successful Games at Millstreet Town Park on Sunday Blessed with Excellent Weather

On Sunday, 23rd September 2018 the annual GAA Hurling Games for the Connie Kelleher Memorial Trophy, the Tommy O’Connor and Alan O’Connor Memorial Trophies took place in splendid weather at Millstreet Town Park.  This year a magnificent Trophy in memory of the late Connie Hickey (who was a dedicated Coach) was introduced and presented by the Hickey Family.  The event was superbly organized with the inclusion of Millstreet Pipe Band, the flying of the National Flag and the presentations at the GAA Community Hall followed by excellent refreshments for everyone.  A huge attendance was in evidence with many people travelling from afar for the special occasion.   The dedicated Committee with such people as Mag O’Connor and John O’Riordan and many others ensured a most successful annual event.  Here we share the first of our pictorial recordings from the uplifting occasion.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
